Curry Night - September

A small but select number of Nomads and Nomadettes attended the Nomads Curry Night held at the Rabbi residence on Saturday.

A selection of fine Indian cuisine was served up and devoured so quickly everyone forgot to take a picture so only the remains were left to be photographed.

The winning entry for the best curry on the night went to Dave and Sue's Up and Under. All curries were given rugby themed names as we sat back to watch England give Wales a good thrashing...

With a very sad end to the evening (for some) watching the rugby, Daisy gave us a rendition on the violin to express his sorrow and grief which only made the rest of us cry harder...

Skittles Night - November

Nomads and Nomadettes gathered at the Jack o' Newbury pub in Binfield for the annual Nomads Skittles evening. This was a new venue for the event this year and the food, drink and atmosphere seemed to have gone down very well.

The group winners on the night were The Boy, Rabbi, Gill and Horny. A hotly contested killer round saw the early exit of former champion Shergar with the eventual winner Jill Angel picking up the first prize.

P.S. Father Willey wanted to make it clear that the Killer Section winner was in fact Gill Angell - presumably in case anyone couldn't work out who Rabbi meant due to his unusual lapse in spelling prowess.

Annual General Meeting - November

We held our AGM last Friday (27th) and, as you can see from the picture, there was plenty of thinking involved - at least on Tuffers' part - everyone else however appears to be pretending to look busy while having a drink!

In any case, it was a good evening and much was discussed, followed by a free curry. Thanks to everyone who turned out.

Thank you to the Club Secretary, Morse, for his efforts in ensuring we all knew where to go and what to discuss and thanks in particular from the editor of The Nomadic for the excellent photography throughout the year which has made this publication and our social media channels possible.

Incidentally, minutes of the meeting are available from Morse, however the key parts (awards and Captain's report) are detailed below.

Awards were as follows:

Clubman of the Year: Nigel Swain

Bowler of the Year: Naresh Kachhawa

Batsman of the Year: Richard Swain

Captain's Award: Tuffers

President's Award: Jill Hood (picked up by Peter Hood on Jill's behalf).

And well done to Mahesh Patel who was elected an honorary VP.
